Our Story

Time2share is a well-established local charity that was established in 1972 by a group of medical students from Bristol University. In the course of their studies they noticed that there were no home-based support for families caring for a child with learning disabilities. The only short breaks parents and carers recieved were by sending their children to respite homes and hospitals. Orginally we were called Bristol Family support Service. This was later changed to Sharing and Caring when we expanded to cover Bath and NE Somerset and finally to our current name, Time2share.

Time2share was established to support families caring for a child with a learning disability but was later broadened and today we support all children with a disability including those on the autistic spectrum. Time2share was one of the first organisations to offer home-based short breaks.
