Voluntary Positions

If you would like to be considered for any of these voluntary positions, please contact us.

Befrienders

Volunteers are needed as befrienders for disabled children and young people at times mutually agreed between the volunteer and the family. We cover Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset.
No experience is needed. A caring approach is essential. You must have a responsible, supportive attitude. We are very flexible and volunteers can offer the amount of time they feel comfortable with and are matched with a child/young person, taking into account mutual interests, hobbies, etc. We are an equal opportunities organisation and welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. We welcome volunteers of all ages and aim to establish an ongoing match with a suitable family.

Trustees

Volunteers are needed to be trustees on our governing body. We would actively welcome parents and carers of disabled children, also, disabled people themselves. We are a charity limited by guarantee, so governors have protection from financial liability. People from Bristol and B&NES welcome!

Aspergers Social Group Volunteer

Volunteers required to support young people with Aspergers at a social group held in Bristol. Each session lasts for around 2 hours fortnightly on Friday evenings and meets in central Bristol. Once a month the group goes out for a session and the other session is spent in a youth venue. All travel expenses can be refunded and there is free training if required. Further details will be disclosed to any interested parties.

We are particularly looking for volunteers who are interested in Dr Who, Science Fiction or film making.

Skittles Group Volunteer

Volunteer needed once per month to help local skittles group.

New Group for Bristol

We have funding for a new social group in Bristol. The details have yet to be decided but it will be for teenagers with a variety of disabilities. There will be sessions once a month in central Bristol, probably during the weekend. We are particularly looking for creative volunteers to help with this group (alongside 2 session workers who will take responsibility for planning the group). Please get in contact with us if you would like to volunteer. We would also like to hear from people who would be interested in paid work to lead creative group sessions.
