Groups Time2Share runs several groups for young people in Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset. The groups are intended for young disabled people to get together and socialise and have fun with the added support of workers and volunteers. We are now running 3 groups in the Bath area for 14 – 19 year olds living in Bath and N E Somerset. The dinner group meets once a month on a Friday evening at Twerton Village Hall to cook a meal, hang out and play games. The skittles group meets once a month on a Saturday afternoon at The Crown Inn in Saltford. We play skittles and have a break for a pub snack and soft drink. The Cinema group meets on a Sunday afternoon or in the school holidays to go out and see a film together. Groups in the Norton Radstock Area We have started 3 new groups in the Norton Radstock area for 14 – 19 year olds living in Bath and N E Somerset. The dinner group meets once a month on a Friday evening at the Somer Centre to cook a meal, hang out and play games, including table tennis. The skittles group meets once a month on a Saturday afternoon at the Elm Tree pub to enjoy a game of skittles, good company and a buffet tea. The Wireworld group meets up 6 times a year in the school holidays on a Wednesday afternoon at the Wireworld shop in Radstock for a marathon 3 hour group gaming session! 18+ Group in Bath and N E Somerset This group is for 18 – 25 year olds and is going from strength to strength. We meet once a month in a pub in Bath for a skittles night and once a month we go out for dinner, to the cinema or to do some other activity chosen by the group members. Our Zookah! group is for young people aged 15 – 19 with Asperger's syndrome, and meets fortnightly on Friday evenings in Bristol. The group chooses the activities that they would like to do together: previous activities have included laser quest, going out for dinner, theatre and a visit to a Doctor Who exhibition. The group also regularly does creative projects like animation and film making. |
