To celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee on 5 June 2012 Bath is staging a major celebration in Victoria Park. A stage with two giant screens will be set up at the bottom of the natural gradient in Royal Victoria Park to allow the public to picnic and watch the Jubilee celebrations. The programme will feature performances including the Bath Phil Orchestra and a host of young emerging pop artists. The evening climaxes with the leading ABBA tribute act Björn Again. The public are encouraged to dress up in retro cloths and styling from 1977 when the Queen celebrated her silver jubilee. Dancing shoes on please!

Small Animal Weekend takes place from 6-9 April 2012 from 11am-4pm. The home’s John Hobhouse Meeting Room will be turned into a menagerie of small animals from rabbits to degus, hamsters to ferrets. Find out how to care for them, have a chance to handle them and maybe even adopt one.

Happy Days Children’s Charity is accepting applications from families where a child/children have a special need. It currently has a waiting list but is accepting applications now for holidays in 2013. Typically these are a one-week seaside or countryside break.

SOFA is an inclusive programme and we are keen to ensure that young people, who might not otherwise have the opportunity to access a project of this nature, to have the chance to do so SOFA (Summer Of Fun Activities) programme has been put together and the information/booking forms are now available. This year’s programme is designed for disabled and disadvantaged young people aged 12 -19 years and will be well supported by qualified and a dedicated staff team. th July – 19th August 2011 and will include activities such as kayaking, sailing, power boating, go-karting, fishing, caving, abseiling and horse riding. There will also be a weekly Base Camp days at Culverhay School with activities including cooking, sports, animation workshop, cheerleading and music sessions. .
