The Holburne Musuem’s Big Birthday Party  takes place on Sunday 29 August from 11am to 2pm

in Sydney Gardens. Take your own picnic and there will be lots of FREE

activities including music,face painting,puppet show,craft activites.

Have fun down on the farm

Tuesdays and Thursdays sees 8-12-year-olds able to help and feed animals at Bath City Farm. 13-18-year-olds can take part in practical farm projects on the same day from 1-3pm. FREE

Under 8s can get involved with gardening and set up allotments at the farm on Fridays from 10-12noon.

Create fabulous mosaics at the Roman Baths

Make your very own mosaic at the Roman Baths on Monday, August 23 from 10-1 and 2-4pm.

In October half-term you can find out what rich and poor Romans ate with the activity Fabulous Feasts or Meagre Morsels.

Sessions are 10-1 and 2-4pm.

Free activity to Discovery Card holders. (Discovery Cards are issued by B&NES and allow local residents admission  to council-run attractions for free. www.bathnes.giv.uk for more details.)

Want to know what life in Roman Britain was like?

Activities announced for summer playscheme

Young people can try their hand at an exciting range of activities this summer thanks to a popular holiday playscheme.

Bath Area Play Project(BAPP) has announced its mini Summer Of Fun Activities (SOFA) and activities include canoeing, a beach day and capoeira.

The scheme is open to children aged between 12-16, and 16+ if the young person is disabled. Activities have a small charge with some funding available to Somer tenants. For more information contact BAPP on 01225 832479 or log on to www.bapp.org.uk/sofa.htm

A chance for carers to have a break!

Carers in B&NES can pop in to a drop-in session at The Guildhall in Bath.

The event takes place on June 16 from 2-7pm and  is part of a pilot project called Give Us A Break. It will give carers in B&NES the chance to take part in a variety of schemes, including those designed  to help improve fitness and computer skills.

Activity Bath City Farm.At 36 acres, this is one of the biggest city farms in the UK.  There is a picnic area where you can enjoy the spectacular views of the city. Sheep and pig nuts are available for a small fee when staff are present.

Disabled access Car Park, but access  is via the kissing gates and stiles around the site so not very wheelchair friendly.
Bus from centre Take the number 4 bus from the main bus station in Bath to the Beehive Surgery stop on The Hollow. Walk a short distance back down the hill, turn left into Kelston View and the Farm entrance is on the Right. There is a picnic area on your left as you enter by the disabled friendly kissing-gate. The return bus stop is back down The Hollow on the left.

Special organized Days Out at the Farm:

                            Afro-Cuban Dance Workshop Wednesday 27th May 11am-2pm

Learn both African and European influenced dance styles, and play fun dance games with fabulous male dancer Alain.Â
Since moving from Cuba in 2001, Alain has taught Afro-Cuban dance to children and adults around South-West England.  His CV boasts work with big names in Latin music such as Omara Portuondo and Ibrahim Ferrer. Free but donations welcome.
